Charge your Car provides access to Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure across the UK.

Membership of Charge your Car is available to all owners and drivers of electric vehicles to enable them to access any of the Charge your Car charging points across the UK.

Charge your Car was launched in North East England in 2010. By 2013, the North East region will be home to over 1,000 charging points, at key locations on streets, in car parks, at residential and commercial locations such as retail and leisure facilities. Other regions in the UK are expected to join the scheme in 2011 creating a national network of charging points all available to existing and new Charge your Car members.

Electric vehicle users can register to use any of the CYC charge points by becoming a Charge your Car member. Becoming a member is easy – simply complete the online registration form and you’ll be sent a CYC card to access the charge points and a welcome pack with all the details you need to use the scheme. Membership is subject to a low cost monthly or annual subscription.

Members are able to charge for free on all the CYC charge points and, in most locations, members are also eligible for free parking whilst charging.

More charge points are being introduced all the time and their locations will be added here as the project progresses so keep checking back for more information.

The Charge your Car project cements North East England’s position at the forefront of low carbon vehicle development, as the region continues to provide the UK with its blueprint for charging infrastructure.
